History

Motorrad Tours was originally set up over a decade ago by Richard Millington to operate tours for BMW (UK) as part of their World of BMW activity program. World of BMW has four main activity arms: Tours, Road Training, Performance Academy and Off Road Skills. World of BMW has been operating since 2000 with thousands of happy customers having enjoyed touring, learning to ride, or developing their off-road skills with us.

Appointed as a BMW Global Travel Partner in 2013, Motorrad Tours were awarded the contract to exclusively operate World of BMW Tours from 2014 becoming the Official Partner to BMW Motorrad (UK). 

Motorrad Tours immediately launched a raft of new initiatives:

These included the introduction of hire bikes; taking customers own or hire bikes to the start of tours in destination cities across Europe, and then creating an online presence with online booking facility.

Motorrad Tours were the first motorcycle tour company to join ABTOT (The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust).

Over several years Motorrad Tours have increased the number of tours running each year.  With no less care or preparation put into each and every trip, not only have customer numbers increased but so has customer satisfaction. 

Each year we survey all our customers and 98% of customers who rode with us would recommend Motorrad Tours.

In 2017 Chris Hone joined Motorrad Tours, becoming a co director alongside Richard  in 2019, and taking over the business as sole director in 2020.  A BMW International Tourguide Academy (ITA) Accredited Tourguide, Chris is an experienced Tour Leader and business entrepreneur.

Chris brings with him fresh ideas and focus allowing Motorrad Tours to take the next step forward.  New initiatives like the Motorrad Tours Academy, a growing number of Dealer and Private Tours and new and exciting destinations means Motorrad Tours continues to go from strength to strength.
