Hire Bikes

As an official BMW Travel Partner you will be unsurprised to know we ride and recommend only BMW. All new BMW bikes are equipped with ABS and Catalytic Converters as standard making them some of the safest and most environmentally friendly machines available.

Our hire bikes fall into a few different categories:

Firstly there are the bikes that you can choose to include as part of any Classic Tour and many European Explorer Tours. This fleet of our own bikes is made up of a range of new BMW motorcycles all under one year old and equipped with

• BMW Panniers and inner bags
• BMW Top Box and inner bag*
• Tank Bag or Map Bag
• Heated Grips
• GPS Unit where a GPS can be fitted to a cradle, pre programmed with your tour routes

* Not included with K1600GT, S1000XR, F900XR, and R1300 GS

Many are equipped with cruise control, electronic suspension and traction control as well. The bikes are comprehensively insured with a £1,500 excess (deductible). Please note that for tours in Morocco and for any days riding in Bosnia Herzegovina bikes are insured for Third Party liability only.

For a few of the remote or shorter European and all Non European Explorer and Adventure Tours we work with local suppliers around the world, most who are also BMW Travel Partners. The choice of bikes will be similar but the equipment may vary. For individual models available consult the relevant tour page. However all will be equipped as follows:

• Panniers (Although you can in some cases opt not to have these)
• Option to have a Top Box*

* There is no charge for these options on most tours.

You can take you own GPS or you can hire one locally. The bikes have a minimum of third party insurance and there may be an option to upgrade this cover. Check each tour for exact cover included for that tour. In certain countries the panniers used may not be BMW panniers.

Typically hire bikes are under 36 months old. However with the pandemic most companies have been forced to hold onto their current fleets longer than normal. Therefore your hire bike may be older than you expect as many have spent almost two years simply in storage, not gaining any miles!

Please carefully read the Motorcycle Hire Terms and Conditions for hiring a bike as part of a tour. If at the point of hire / bike pick up you are unable to hire due to not complying to the terms and conditions, you will not be able to ride and no refund of the hire or tour will be possible.
