All packed into one of our “New for 2025 Tours” French Riviera and the Grand Alps is a relaxed tour with daily mileage around 200 miles. Plenty of time off the motorcycle to explore and relax in some of our favourite hotels in the region.
Two nights in Arles city, full of history and culture. Nicknamed “Little Rome” by the Romans themselves, Arles certainly lives up to its reputation. Don’t miss a visit to the impressive Arles Amphitheater, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site or the Alyscamps, also referred to as the Champs Elysées of Arles. Arles has everything to offer from Roman artefacts to Van Gogh dedicated museums.
Heading South to the Cote d’Azur, Menton is our next two night stop. Here you can stroll through the narrow streets and experience ‘La Dolce Vita’, marvelling at every street corner, experience the Cocteau effect. The famous artist left his mark on Menton, visit The Jean Cocteau Museum and his two magical keepsakes here.
Being in Menton is like stepping into another world. Enjoy mouthwatering gourmet cuisine at the sea’s edge or take a trip to wonderful Monaco.
Moving on to the famous Route des Grandes Alpes with one mountain pass after another and the stunning Col de l’Iseran, the highest paved mountain road in the Alps. These fantastic French Alps roads will convince anyone there is more to the Alps than Switzerland.
Your route home takes in more great riding as we climb back into the mountains heading for the shores of Lac Leman bordering Switzerland.
We continue north into the Vosge Mountains and then through France and to the Belgian Ardennes as you head for a final night in Sedan. Staying at the Chateau Fort Sedan, a converted fort and now a fabulous 4-star hotel.
