BRITTANY AND NORMANDY: LONG WEEKENDER

Tour Overview

If you are looking for a relaxed ride through quintessentially French Brittany and the rolling countryside of Normandy, then this tour is ideal for you.

Famed for countryside, culture, and culinary class, this region also boasts dramatic coasts, characterful old towns, and bags of history.

From the old town of St Malo we mix coast and countryside on our way to Ploumanac’h, which is set in the heart of the ‘Pink Granite Coast’ area in the north of Brittany.

Heading south to the walled town of Concarneau on the Atlantic coast, we pass through picturesque towns and villages taking time to enjoy the cuisine and hospitality of the region.  The Les Monts d’Arree area has some fine motorcycling roads to enjoy between pit stops.

From Concarneau we head inland overnighting at the medieval town of  Alencon, where we will have time to enjoy the beautiful environment, bars and restaurants. Heading North we pass through the rolling hills and green pastures of the Suisse Normande, akin to Switzerland and hence its name.

Our final destination is the Port of Caen where we have a 4.30pm crossing bringing you back to Portsmouth in the early evening.

Our riding pace is relaxed with mileages averaging just 160 miles per day leaving time to soak up the characteristic French hospitality with long lunches and longer evenings! Alongside the scenic riding, we’ll stay at some superb accommodation typical of the area. Add French food and wine as a reward for a day on the road and you have a winning combination.

Excellent tour from start to finish. If you have a bike and you want to go on a tour, these are the people to use.

Motorrad Tours welcome all makes and models of bike on tour. We also have a range of BMW bikes that you can hire. All our hire bikes for Classic and European Explorer Tours are current model BMW’s complete with ABS, Heated Grips, Panniers, Top Box, Tank Bag, Inner bags for all boxes and a pre programmed BMW Navigator GPS included.
