This new tour takes a relaxed pace as we explore the beautiful landscapes of the Ardennes, cruising the twists and turns through the rolling hills and extensive forests of one of natures unspoilt regions. You have the option to take two days away from the saddle to soak up the culture and history of the area to balance the experience of riding in this superb motorcycling region with some relaxed down time.
CRUISE THE CASTLES OF THE ARDENNES
Travelling through France and into Belgium you reach the Semoir Valley, with its river framed by steeply rising wooded slopes and meadows. We stop here overnight in our charming boutique hotel located in village of Alle Sur Semois.
The next day you cross over into Luxembourg, where you stay for two nights beneath the striking Vianden Castle. One of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. It sits majestically upon a forested hilltop overlooking the town and the river Our. You have a free day here to visit the castle, ride Luxembourg’s only chair lift or enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple on the banks of the river Our.
Heading back into Belgium your next destination is the small town of Bouillon, where again you stop for two nights staying in our hotel on the banks of the Semois. Visit the castle which was the ancestral home of Godfrey of Bouillon, the first European knight to breach the walls of Jerusalem during the first crusade and subsequently became the first ruler of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Alternatively, walk along the banks of the Semois, soaking up the beauty of the area before popping into a local bar or restaurant to sample some of your favourite Trappist beer.
Our last overnight stop is perhaps the grandest as we stay in the imposing Château Fort Sedan, a property that dates back to the early 1,400s and now houses a hotel – enabling us to end our trip in true medieval style.
Motorrad Tours welcome all makes and models of bike on tour. We also have a range of BMW bikes that you can hire. All our hire bikes for Classic and European Explorer Tours are current model BMW’s complete with ABS, Heated Grips, Panniers, Top Box, Tank Bag, Inner bags for all boxes and a pre programmed BMW Navigator GPS included.
