Tour Overview
Travelling through France and into Belgium you reach the Semoir Valley. It’s here that we’ll stop overnight in a charming boutique hotel located in the village of Alle Sur Semois.
The next day you cross over into Luxembourg, where you stay for two nights beneath the striking Vianden Castle. One of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. It sits majestically upon a forested hilltop overlooking the town and the River Our. You have a free day here to visit the castle, ride Luxembourg’s only chair lift or enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple on the banks of the River Our.
Heading back into Belgium, your next destination is the small town of Bouillon, where again you stop for two nights staying in our hotel on the banks of the Semois. Visit the castle which was the ancestral home of Godfrey of Bouillon, the first European knight to breach the walls of Jerusalem during the first crusade and subsequently became the first ruler of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Alternatively, walk along the banks of the Semois, soaking up the beauty of the area before popping into a local bar or restaurant to sample some of your favourite Trappist beer.
Our last overnight stop is perhaps the grandest as we stay in the imposing Château Fort Sedan, a property that dates back to the early 1400s and now houses a hotel – enabling us to end our trip in true medieval style.
It's a very nice region to visit. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Katrina.
