Tour Overview
We’ll spend our first night near London where you’ll meet your fellow travellers over a welcome dinner. Dinner is served in the Hotel’s very own pub just a short walk away from the hotel grounds. A night cap and a comfy bed is in order, there’s a lot to see in the morning. After a full English breakfast you’ll start your journey with a history lesson and a visit to Winchester Cathedral. There are fifteen centuries of English history concealed in this massive structure. If you’re looking for something a little older then you won’t be disappointed. Before heading north to our base for the night, next on the list will be Stonehenge, perhaps the World’s most famous prehistoric monument.
The following day is rest day. You can take it easy, relax enjoy the charms of the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ or you can join us on a historic walking tour… the choice is yours. The relaxed pace continues with a morning ride through the Cotswolds on to our next destination where you can spend the afternoon exploring the quaint streets of an 800-year-old Stratford upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
The next day we leave England behind as we cross the border for the first time. Indulge in the spectacular landscape of Wales, a land of song, myth and legend. Cascading waterfalls and superb winding roads will put your riding skills to the test, and perhaps some ‘Dragon spotting’ will be on the cards? In a puff of fire and smoke, we progress North, you’ll ride the iconic ‘Cat and Fiddle’ pass to the Peak District then on to the ancient Roman town of York to visit the gothic cathedral, York Minster. We carry on to the Lake District National Park before entering Scotland.
After passing through the stunning Galloway Forrest, we’ll continue to trace the west coast. We have a ferry to catch before arriving at our hotel, nestled on the shores of Loch Fyne. There will be a dungeon or two to explore as we ride to Edinburgh via the dramatic Glen Coe and head for our farewell dinner in Scotland’s capital. This Drams, Dungeons and Dragons tour discovers the beauty of three nations and is undoubtedly an unforgettable trip!
