Tour Overview
After crossing the channel with LeShuttle we head to the region of Wallonia famed for its medieval towns and traditional Trappist beers… The following morning our Mountains tour takes us on to Freiburg where we can expect wonderful views along the way through the Black Forest in Germany.
After Freiburg and on our way toward the charming Bavarian market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, we pass Lake Constance, a huge body of water shared by three nations: Germany, Switzerland and Austria. From here it’s mountains all the way as we ride the Penser Joch, Del Erbe, and Furkell passes of the South Tyrol en route to our base overlooking the Dolomites. The following day there’s an opportunity to rest or maybe we can tempt you with the Passo Giau, Pordoi and Gardena deep in the Dolomite Mountains?
With the Dolomites disappearing in our mirrors, we move west along more high alpine roads as we head toward the popular ski resort of Davos, exploring more wonderful passes full of twists and turns on the way. We’ll be riding from Italy to Austria and onto Switzerland today.
From Davos we start the journey home; destination Mulhouse, but there’s still plenty of awesome roads on offer as we navigate the Swiss passes of Furka and Oberalp before crossing the border to France.
If you’ve not ridden the Vosges mountains before, you are in for a treat! Our penultimate day and last mountain ride takes in the Route de Cretes and the Grand Ballon as we make our way north for our farewell dinner. The following day, there’s a final blast to Calais where our LeShuttle carriage awaits for home!
Please Note: This is a riding focussed tour with big mileage, long days, demanding roads and lots and lots of hairpins. If you are looking for an Alpine tour but with a more relaxed pace have a look at Annecy and the Alps, Lakes and Mountains: Italy or French Riviera and the Grand Alps! Weather in the Alps at altitude can be unpredictable and while it is summer in the valleys, it can be winter on the peaks. It is suitable only for experienced and confident riders and pillions. We recommend you carefully check your tyres and replace them if in any doubt prior to departure, especially if riding a BMW S or K series bikes.

This tour has the most intensive Alpine riding experience you can pack into 9 days, with great routes, great company and premium hotels. Brilliant!
